Advantages of an inflatable kayak

An inflatable can travel where a hardshell can not be checked as baggage. Having a means of getting around within a few miles of the road could be a very liberating thing.

Looking at this remote island in the Bahamian Archipelago, the crude road follows the shoreline for a brief interval and there is a small structure worth fishing... but when compared to the available structure a few miles away it's not much.

It's possible to carry a small tent, some water and some provisions and do an overnight on the beaches, extending the reach of the excursion into two days with a suitably sized kayak.

There's a lot to think about with the wind and tides especially in these remote places, but it's not hard to see what an inflatable kayak can offer on a trip to the carribean!
