Friend of mine took me out on his 20" Trophy CC a couple of weeks ago. I was quite impressed with the ride and layout - the console is a bit farther forward in these which makes for a nice casting deck in back. Nice high gunnels for the little ones too.
What I take from Jim's mention of classic lines makes me think of Novi style as opposed to displacement with lots of vee and deadrise - a Finest Kind, Eastern, Stagepoint, et al, has lots of room for people to move around, fish from, and yet it's slung low enough to be beached. I have to be honest - after I first thought about it, I also wanted to add the Whaler to the list. I'm not much on vee hulls with a ton of deadrise for getting close to the rocks to cast to foam and wash.
FYI the Trophy only draws about 8 inches and we beached it (once accidentally ) a couple of times over the weekend. I was just struck by the comfort and practical layout of the thing.
Wish I had one in my driveway so I could tell you all about it
The bristol skiff is small, but it has a large platform in the stern. Haven't seen the inside of the Stagepoint yet, but I sure like the exterior looks.
