clear or otherwise, im kind of leaning more towards clear line or ghost tip, because I do alot of sightfishing for smallmouth up north. Looking for a good line for an eight weight, preferably one with a good turnover for some bigger bodied streamers
The Cortland 555 Little Tuny line would be my choice. It's meant for saltwater, but work just as well in the fresh. Plus you can take it to the ocean when you want to try for some blues, stripers, or bonitos.
MY CHOICE IS THE ORVIS WONDER LINE. IT HAS A SINK RATE OF 1 1/2"-2 1/2" PER SECOND AND IS CRYSTAL CLEAR. I USE IT ON THE FLATS IN S.FLORIDA AND IT WORKS WELL ON SPOOKY FISH. I SOMETIMES PRACTICE MY CAST IN THE LAKE BEHIND MY HOUSE, AND EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT BIG ON "SWEAT WATER" FISHING ANY MORE I HAVE CAUGHT DOZENS OF 2-8LB BASS WHILE PRACTICEING MY CAST.
Take a look at the Rio Clouser line as well. It will toss those big fly's pretty well. I believe the Rio Striper line as the same taper as the Clouser line if you prefer a clear line.
