I will be traveling through Honduras in late January and plan to make a stop in the Bay Islands to do a little fly fishing. Can anyone provide me with some information on their experiences fishing around Utila, Roatán, or Guanaja?
I understand Honduras (depending on area) has the whole gamut of tropical species including tunas just offshore. The island chain to the north of the mainland seems like quite an angler's pot of gold. However it seems to be a relatively uncharted fishery - even better!
A buddy and myself have been looking at Mango Creek Lodge on Roatan for a trip in April 2007.
I can see that this thread originated back in 2004, and was wondering if any of the readers have further or any experience with the fishing on Roatan.
Any help or leads would be appreciated.
Tight lines
Inge
