/O.CON.KBUF.LE.W.0007.000000T0000Z-070212T1200Z/

INCLUDING THE CITY OF...OSWEGO
731 AM EST FRI FEB 9 2007

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST
MONDAY...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST
MONDAY.

THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW HAS LIGHTENED UP CONSIDERABLY THIS MORNING.
THIS HOWEVER IS ONLY A TEMPORARY BREAK AS LAKE EFFECT SNOWS ARE
EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE COUNTY BY
LATE MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF
3 TO 5 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED BY THIS EVENING.

ADDITIONAL HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS LIKELY TONIGHT AND
CONTINUING INTO COMING WORK WEEK. THE LAKE SNOW BAND WILL SWING
BACK TO THE EASTERN SHORE OF LAKE ONTARIO AND BRING THE HEAVY SNOW
TO THE REGIONS WHICH HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED CLOSE TO OR MORE THAN
100 INCHES. SNOW RATES WILL BE AROUND 2 INCHES PER HOUR AND MAY
REACH 4 INCHES PER HOUR WITH "ADDITIONAL" SNOWFALL REACHING 3 TO 4
FEET OVER CENTRAL AND NORTHERN OSWEGO COUNTY BY MONDAY.

GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH THE HEAVY SNOWS TO PRODUCE
CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH WHITEOUT CONDITIONS
AT TIMES.

TRAVEL WILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE AT TIMES
ACROSS THE EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO REGION THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING
ESPECIALLY ON NORTH SOUTH ROADS SUCH AS INTERSTATE 81 AND ROUTES
11 AND 3.

OK .... so who is Hardcore?

Global Warming...?!

During my college daze at Oswego State, lake effect dropped 103" in 3 days...
The school was officially "closed" but the local bars were very much "open" and jammed...

Already 100" and more on the way!
GO LAKERS!

And my brothers, sisters, father in northeastern PA and my relatives in northeastern PA and Rochester and Syracuse areas wonder why I like the WA State PNW winter rain so much!:chuckle: I don't miss the snow at all, although I do shake my head at the panic with most folks around here when we get a few measely inches of snow once or twice every few years.

I still will take the rain in this area over the snow I grew up with.

Just don't let the rest of the world know we've discovered Goretex.:smokin: Let them go on thinking we have all developed webbed toes and our women have moss growing under their arms.:chuckle:
