What is the dollar equivalent?

LA is very nice even on trout weights. The I fish the Danielsson LA in black on my 5wt and now it would be hard to go back from large arbor to standard now. Bauer reels are reasonably priced and very well made, and I like the modern yet classic aesthetics.

BUT freshwater is far less demanding than saltwater so the choices are much broader. I have enjoyed click-pawl reels for years while trout fishing only to be replaced for aesthetics and preferences rather than real need. Get a Hardy and make some noise out there :)

The Lamson will be fine. I own the old Lamson LP 1.5 which is hard to beat. Again I only upgraded from these trout reels because I wanted to, not because I needed to.

Saltwater is a whole 'nuther story.

Below are photos of Danielsson FW 2-6 reel action.
It is a large arbor reel with a sealed drag, no clicker.
When fishing in rugged conditions for larger fish, when often a second hand keeps wading stick and is not available for palming a good, sealed drag is useful.
Otherwise Danilesson large arbor ( LA) Original is perfect, and less expensive.
