You ought to try out a "new" Temple Fork...you might be pleasantly surprised!
I think they are about $150+/-
You get a descent rod and if it ever gets eaten by a car door or "high-stick modified", you are covered ($25 gets you a replacement)..."used" could leave you out in the cold...
When I bought my 9wt TFO this past fall there were two versions: the 2pc, which was $89, and the 4pc (3pc?), which was about $150. I asked about the price difference and was told that the more expensive rod was made with higher quality components. Another difference was that the 2pc had a glossy (lacquered?) finish and the other had more of a matte or brushed finish. I was also told that the action was the same for both rods.
FWIW, I bought the 2pc and am very pleased with its performance so far.
