This crab pattern has been in R&d for several years after seeing Striblue's Crab Apple. It has been tested on the Cape and the Westport River with great success.
Flytying is an evolving process and this fly is no different.
What I have done is taken a photo of a Lady Crab, printed the photo and mounted it on a jig hook. I coated the carapace with CCGoo for durability.
The instructions are long and varied but if you do a search in the fly tying forum there are two long posts on the instructions...search "crab Apple and look down the list and you will see instructions. let me know if that does not help.
