I went on an exploratory float with Dan Harrison of Harrison Anglers. We floated the section between the dam in Buckland and the dam in Shelburne center. We had to drag the boat/raft down an access road to the first dam and then walk it down a steep bank, but it was worth it to get to some beautiful water. There were two people fishing at the mouth of the North River who told us that they he never seen a boat come down from where we were. The upper section is steep stepping pocket water and the lower is slower and flatter. The fishing was a bit slow. Hooked or landed 4 rainbows, 2 smallmouths, 3 small salmon, and saw a rainbow that made us sweat on a cool day.
Great day on the water.
A picture of what we float in. Next time I'll remember to take fish pictures.
