There is a small, late spring run of Skamania-stock summer runs entering the Deschutes in late June. The Type-A fish (one-salt little guys) start showing in catchable numbers by mid-July.
The SW Washington streams -- Washougal, E and NF Lewis, Kalama, etc. should all have fish by now. Current WDF reports indicate fishing has been slow.
The Clackamas should be producing fish, and, according to reports, fishing is fair.
Nothing much to get excited about yet in my neck of the woods.
Don't know what is going on locally not many fishing on my local river. But what is amazing is that it is still running clear and not glacier green. We are usually one month or more into the green cold melt by now.
I got the itch to and said screw it and went fishing. If your heading to this neck of the woods shoot me a pm. Local rivers a bit high but if your willing to walk and cast a dry line then there are rewards as OC stated not many people out. A few with fins and a few more without, no intruders or eggs needed.
Awesome news and great to hear from you Dennis! You can bet I will get hold of you when I come out, planning to do at least two trips maybe three this year.
Looking forward to swinging a greased line over summer fish :smokin:
Dennis great to see you post. Are you living down in Oregon now? Juro, if you come out this summer we will do the river across from the big river and opposite my river. Say that 3 times! Big fish on top, my doctor got a 20 lber on his cane and on top. I guess it's time to fish. Honey, can the contractor build the walk in chicken coop, and build the fence too? Oh ya what about him putting in the irrigation system instead of me also.
Hey OC still live in pugetropolis just south west of the big river at least our big river. No chicken poop or urination systems here but sorely missed, brings me back to my child hood days. Are you raising them for hair extensions, eggs, or for tying steelhead drys. Wished I would have thrown a few steelhead drys this last weekend but didn't listen to my friends advice and had to resort to lady C's just under the surface. On a good note brats appear to have fared well in the salt anough 3-salts to make life interesting.
Dennis,
Just for eggs, nothing better than orange yokes. Just got back from Wyoming and eating in restraunts was weird, Yellow yokes. Glad to here you have some fish up your way. I know Duggan has been wondering where you have been as well. If your down this way give a PM.
OC,
If things fall in place I might hit your neck of the woods next month, have a family get together so I will shoot you a pm. Tell Stink-Tip that Gandalf the grey can be hard to find these days, if you find the hobbit trails your warm. But look out for the Orc poop and low lying branches I keep hitting my head on them. Just curious OC do you hang those orange yolks off stonefly nymphs and boobers. Or do you but them on the front of you intruders.
Be careful I may have left some pungi sticks on your older Hobbit trails. No offense, those were the old days in a not so perfect world, they were really set for Sparkie. The prison run, the island does it still exist? Remember when GW Bush was giving a bit of a talk later in the day across the river from there to bunch of right wing enviro kooks. Early that very foggy morning I hear a jet ski slowly coming down the the far side rapids where no jet ski had ever been. Then out of the fog comes the ski and a guy with a crew cut, orange jump suit and a machine gun pointed at my head. I don't know how he knew I was wading and casting in all that fog. I've never had anyone come out of the fog pointing a machine gun at me, ever, it's not that common you know in this country. All I could say was GW was no friend of the river. How was I to know Beans would be there. Secret service guy nice guy with a mean look.
Ya stop in, the tip will be hear on the 29th of July, He and the lovely wife are Harley Riding that weekend. How come only us old people ride Harley's?
Kerry,
Great picture, you were lookin good in the day, eh. But answer this for me will ya, How come you have this beautiful bike and you can't buy a new front tire with tread on it.:chuckle: Have a great 4th!
OC,
I haven't fished those pools in some time between carbonmonoxide and methane its hard to breath down there. Prefer to hop on Shadowfax and avoid the freeway, also Orc poop doesn't reek up the hole valley. Set up the trail cam the other day and a large hair kritter trip it, I think it could be sasquatch or maybe kuma. Thats a nice looking dog Kerry I owned a great pyreenes a few years back the best dog ever. OC end of july will be though for me but middle of august might work better. Also I might be across the creek from you in early September flinging arrows, so I might be able to set a day aside to fling feathers.

I was likely doing close to 70mph when that pic was taken. I doubt you could see the tread on a snow tire.
The motorcycle didn't cost all that much either. Home built from stuff purchased at swap meets. I bet I had less than 3 grand in it. That is the way we did it.................................back in the day.
On the second build of that bike my wife and I sold it and used the money for a down payment on our first house.
Thankful that someone had the balls to flip off the king.
Happy 4th.
