Baromenter" used in Paxton, Ma., 300ft higher in elevation than the highest hill in Worcester, are lilacs in bloom......bud heads just beginning to form...when they begin to flower, our friends are here :smokin: Guessing 2-3 weeks, but wouldn't be disappointed if it was earler.

I agree with paxton. Whenever lilacs have bloomed on Cape Ann or anywhere else on the North Shore around the Merrimack....schoolies should be in.
Drove thru the area yesterday, did not see any lilacs, but everything else was in bloom, incuding magnolia trees.
FWIW...I have only caught schoolies in April from the Merrimack once....usually first ones between May 8th to 15th. Gotta believe that the Cape could be a week earlier.
Candy House/Little River area in Gloucester is a possibility for a fish soon.
