After a few years of not fishing (college, job, etc...) i've dusted off my flyrod, and gotten ahold of a spey rod. I've been scouting around in the Manitowoc area, and most of the rivers around there seem to be more fishable with a stout one-hander. Are there wadable sections of rivers in the area (Sheboygan- Oconto) that are a little wider? I'm not looking to make a 100' cast, I'm looking for an area where I can overshoot and not end up in a tree.
Also, what's the deal with the Little Suamico river?
That used to be a favorite river of mine. I remember almost every cast would end up w/ a smallmouth or brook trout. Now it's not even listed as a trout/steelhead stream. I guess i'm missing a bit of history somewhere.
