WF line (#8) for chucking large heavy fly(s).

Presently using the SA 'nymph' line on my 8wt, but it's like trying to cast a rope. Probably a good line, but for me .. zero affinity.

On the Rogue the typical set up is a two fly combo, the first normally quite heavy (#4 or 6 hook) and a trailer. Again this will usually be weighted with .02 wire or a large bead head.

Line suggestions?

Fred,

Have you tried a Bass or Pike taper? They are great for turning over large flies and even sink tips. A lot of the guys that fish single-handed rods on the Gaspe use them in the spring to turn over the big salmon flies we use up there in the spring.

Charlie.
