Got up early to fish the Upper Sky Sunday hoping for the early clouds and marine layer forecast by our Weather Gurus. As those of you who were up early in the Seattle area can attest, the day was dry and bright. Not a cloud in the sky, and the sun was on the water by 7am! We swam our flies thru some nice water below Reiter, and I picked up either (1) a jack steelhead or (2) a residualized 16" rainbow that slammed my waking fly and actually ratcheted my Hardy Salmon #2 over as it stripped off a few feet of line. But no action from the real Steelies, so we packed it up around 9.

As we were leaving, one of the gear guys was dragging out a beautiful 12-13# deep-bodied buck. Fish are there - and what I wouldn't give for a nice cloudy morning!
