This stinks. They say 9000 gallons from a barge containing 10 Million gallons. Maybe we are lucky.

It upsets me just to hear that. I remember living in Seattle during the Alaska Valdez Exxon spill... many left their jobs on leave to volunteer for cleanup. Exxon delayed operations for 8 days to allow the surf to dissipate oil into the water, which really infuriated folks... until they paid tens of thousands of dollars in retribution money to local businesses to shut them up.
I havent bought a drop of oil or gas from anything that says Exxon since that day, and never will.
As of 7-7, it was 14,000 gallons of heavy #6 fuel oil. See http://www.savebay.org/oilspillupdate.htm
They've collected about 8300 gallons of oil/water mix with booms and vacuums so far. Meanwhile the CG has temporarily closed 4000 acres of the Bay to shellfishing and fishing.
By happenstance, I was in Kodiak and Seward, AK in 1989 right after the Exxon Valdez spill. Talk about depressing, in every way!

Thanks for the link
