Juro those flies made me think of bluefish too - as in "there ain't no way I'd be willing to throw a fly that nice with all those @#!% bluefish around!"
With the bait I've seen this season so far, you'd also need some about 1 inch and some about a foot long.

I shoot with a digital Nikon D50 w/ 24-120 lens. I try to shoot in natural, even light. I take my light reading off the subject directly.
usually I will resize, sharpen, and edit in Photoshop C3.
If I am forced to shoot inside, I will light from 2 opposing sides and try to get back 2 feet or so from the subject. This is helpful as I don't get hotspots from the flash. (usually).
I will take 20 shots to get one good one. Part of that is my eyes don't focus quit as well as they once did.
