I'm looking for fishing partners in NortWest Oregon/Southwest Washington. I'm an experieinced trout fisherman. This is my first year with any success at steelheading. I own a drift boat, and am happy to take people along.
What? A fishing partner? Let me get this straight... you have a drift boat, an interest in flyfishing, and you wanna take someone along? What? You forgot your deodorant last time? heh heh...
I've not yet had the pleasure of hooking a steely on a fly and I've been flailing the fly for about 8 years now. I'm a trout fisherman too, but anything that resembles a fish tugging on the end of my flyline will do.
I live about 25 miles south of Tacoma, so perhaps if there's an empty seat - I'm certain I can find someone to "row" lol
right place. A significant number of the board members live in SW Washington/NW Oregon. With that 'drift boat offer' you'll be using the spare oar to beat them off.
If you get the urge to try Southern Oregon; I, J D, and Nate, and and. and would love to show you the upper Rogue. Only thing is we'll have to take that 'weenie' trout rod out of your hand and teach you a couple of the finer points of using a Spey Rod.
Actually, if your reasonably good with a one hander, it will take you 30 minutes to get into the grove with a light spey rod. They are that easy to learn.
So what your saying Fred is that he (Stu) doesn't spey fish. I can't believe it, I really can't that's why I joined this forum, everyone spey fishes, don't they?
Lol, having fun yet?
