Small boat show was, well, small...but enough there for me - they had Heritage SOTs which looked nice and Feathercraft Java which looked awesome but at twice the price. Made more sense to get a Yak + Drysuit for almost the same $.
Angler package, also sprang for a drysuit - should all arive in a couple of weeks then it's down to the sounds for somw lessons from Ms Kayak:smokin:
Look forward to paddlignwith you this season, we've got some areas that see little pressure & are yak accesible that I'm thinking about doing a miniture clave in/on/ around/ to!!
Congrats Adrian. I'm looking for another yak and if it were up to me I'd be looking at the Tarpon. But my wife thinks we should have a tandem. I'm going to try to convince her that she loves the Pungo. Then I'll be able to choose my weapon - both on the purchase and when I go fishing.
We should talk. I'm actually thinking about selling my Manteo & buying 2 tandems so the whole family can get out. The purchase of a boat this season is about dead. We'll know for sure after the boat show this weekend.
Maybe the lovely Mrs. A would be interested in a bright red Manteo with good karma??
Roop, don't get rid of your manteo!!! :tsk_tsk: too hard to control a tandem as a solo. also, the advice I got before getting my Pungo... when I asked if I should consider a tandem instead, the salesman smirked and said they refer to tamndems as divorce boats! :whoa: enough said??? Tom D
Appreciate the concern Tom but I'm thinking about one of the Loon "adjustable" tandems - 138T or 160T.
Not crazy about the huge open cockpit, it's more like a decked canoe but, I see it as a great addition (decided to keep the Manteo after yesterday's paddle) so I can take non-paddlers.
