Here is a pattren popular in the GL region, especially in the Erie tributaries. Steelhead go crazy over these in the morning, all you need is the bacon! They can be tied in many different colors and sizes, although sizes #12 - 16 are most popular.

Scrambled Eggs: Color: Blue/Chartruese

Hook: Tiemco 2457 #12 - #16
Thread: Yellow/Chartruese 8/0 Uni
Tag: Blue krystal flash(optional)
Body(side #1): Blue micro globug yarn
Body(side #2): Chartruese micro globug yarn

**Make sure you make three - four loops and weave the pattern, doing chartruese then blue, and repeating.

Can't go without some of these in my boxes!

;)

Nice flies!

I take it these are exclusively a fall pattern since the nookies are out of the river in the springtime?

I'm going up for my first spring trip (have done many fall days) to NY in a couple of weeks and looking for pattern suggestions. I was thinking along the lines of a swung spey fly/streamer or small stonefly imitations?

BG...

Found this older thread looking for some info.

Forgot to answer your question. This fly works exceptional in spring when the water is higher and you need an attractor. Although quite small, they do the job.

A crossover sucker spawn imitation I guess you could say:rolleyes: ?
