This is more of a finese pike fly....

hook- bassbug 2
eyes- stick on over epoxy
body- mylar tubing
throat- flourescent orange rabbit
wing- flourescent yellow rabbit strip from hide and chartruse krystal flash
Keep in mind- In the area that I consider my pike stomping grounds (west-central Minnesota)a 14lb fish gets your name in the paper.

This is a relatively small fly (21/2-3 inches) thats been my go to for sight fishing. When fish are visible and very inactive, the key has been dropping the fly right infront of their face, and because the fly is weightless it suspends there. The fly looks alive in the water as some panfish, and casts well for a zonker. This fly is also very good with following fish and fish that miss your buddies daredevil and are slightly spooked. The main reason that I've chosen to cut my own zonker strips, is because I've found it to b a slightly stiffer tanned leather than their precut counter parts, eliminating the need for a mono loop snag guard.

It might look like child's play to some of you guys, but its an old standard for me.
