Can anyone give a good place to start on how to use GPS systems. I got a Lowrance LMS-350a unit, but I don't have a manuel. Does anyone know of any good books etc.......
As far a getting your Lat/ Long, it should display it by just turning it on and waiting possibly up to 20 minutes the first time. Don't park the boat under trees . The user interfaces on these things for the various screens are pretty item specific, so I don't think another or a generic manual will help very much with the layers and layers of screens. I think that if you called Lowrance in Texas they could provide a manual for the model you have. They are a good company. One of the marine store chains should have a number of books on general navigation that would be another good item to have.
Found this on the Lowrance website. You can download it and use it for your machine. GPS is probably the easiest of all the elctronic components to learn to use. Very user friendly and takes no time to learn and get comfortable with them. They all work very similiar and you shouldn't have much trouble getting to know your unit.
