Another simple glassbead head fly.

hook: Tmc 101, dryfly size 8
thread: Black
bead: 6/0 amber glass with silver plated thru hole. "Rocalles"
tail: grizzly maribou (chickabou)
hackle: grizzly stiff here, but soft & webby works well also.
body: black chenile

The combination of the dry fly hook & glass bead give this fly a slow sink thats great for stillwater.

Now that is sexy! AOL question.

Lots of folks are now attaching photo's as jpg's; good plan but yesterday went zero for zero in getting the pictures to pop up on AOL. Working on the banks system as I type this, and works neat as a new pin.

Any ideas on why 'ok' on one, and zero on AOL?

Well Fred, since you feel that way about it, I have to tell you that it's on its way to Quentin for raffle at the Marlboro show as I type .

Could it be that AOL doesn't open up a new window to view the picture in. I know that sometimes I don't have a new window opened up when I get a PM.

Will have a "new way" to try this out tonight.

The 'wire guys' were out and hooked us up to fiber optic cable this morning. (Joan's in pure internet Heaven!) Thing does everyting from the computer to cable TV.

Will be interesting to see how this works; all new e mail address come the end of this month (AOL annual subscription expires), how to 're-set' "favorite places," can you transfer the address book etc. This old dog really doen't want to learn new tricks.
:whoa:

New e mail address will be/is:

FredAEvans@ashlandoregon.org.

Aol address (FredAEvans@aol.com) will still be active for a few more weeks, but now I've got two of the things to "watch." The interesting thing will be re-learning how to send an e mail. AOL's system is 'e mail for dummies;' the new one uses a format that like none other I've experienced. (Bank's system is Lotus Notes.)

But then again, by the 'old address' you can guess how many years I've been paying for Steve Case's lunchs.

Sean, for the moment it's AOL's browser. Tomorrow ???

Fred,

Are you using the AOL browser or IE when you view the website from home?

Have no idea what the fiber network uses, but I suspect it's probably what ever you have active on your machine.

And I'll have to admit: how we got from a 'glass bead headed fly' to this is even beyond my comprehention. But, having said that: there's no explaining the mind of a Mortgage Banker anyway.

Trust Me (Oxymoron?) I know where you're coming from.

Fred, after my experiences last summer with "Mortgage Bankers" you don't know how big a target you just gave me."

Yes, getting a home loan can be a very pricy thing. Work for KeyBank and one thing I'll give them (all other oddities aside) is we don't charge people for the "priviledge" of borrowing our money (no loan fee, junk fees, etc.). In this case I did use a Broker with whom I have a good working relationship. 3/4 point fee (and all the junk fees ..sigh) but a 5.5% 30 year term loan. At the time I 'locked' the real cost of money was 6.00 to 6.125 percent so no room to bitch.

Playing with the FO for the first time; it IS fast! Will have to checkout my fav. porno sites to see just how fast.

Thanks John, Given your masteryof tyhing that means a lot. These are patterns that I like to tie & use because I don't get bothered when I lose them.

Hal look for "Rocalles" sp? on the label as the bead type for the silver plated thru holes. it does make a difference in the appearance. The other thing that I find makes a difference is that the glass is lighter than brass, giving a slower jigging action.
