This fly has lured many of the spring steelhead I've been lucky enough to have dancing on the end of my line in March and April. It's got a great profile, tons of movement, and a bit of flash. It also looks great in purple and white or black and light purple.
Nice design, looks like it applies as well to the tube as the loop eye hook. I like to tie over/under bunnies too and like the fact that it provides a lot of life and contrast for a swung fly without fouling. Can't miss these colors even in glacier melt!
Been looking around for some new summer run patterns and these look like they will work well on the Michigan skamanias.
For some strange reason they love fluorescent colors in clear water. They are so aggressive I think they would attack any thing some times.
Some of these other PNW patterns from last years swap will also be tried.
Thanks
