Line Repair

Hello all! I have an almost new fly line, an Airflo long Delta spey if it matters, and I managed to put a pretty good nick in the coating about a foot behind the back end of the head. The nick is probably 3-4 mm long and I can see the core but thankfully the core is not damaged.
So I was thinking about whipping some thread over it and then coating it with pliobond or aquaseal. Any opinions?
