The steelie fishing is on fire at the Salmon River!

I'm still a student of these classy patterns. I'm thinking maybe a little less spey hackle for a less bushy profile?

The spey hackle is fine. The only thing I'd work on if I was you is reducing the size of the head by cutting down the number of thread wraps. However, this is a minor thing and many of the old masters and it is more important to have a well-proportioned fly and head than the smallest head possible.
