Nice looking fly.

Per your request for criticism I would do these things differently:

1) I'd move the body back on the hook so that the tag is half way between the
hook point and barb, this allows #2 to occur.

2) Doing #2 would then allow me to start the rear body even with the hook point
to allow the longer, full shank length body a dee fly typically has.

3) I'd use a larget tinsel on the front body half to provide a bit of contrast and
more importantly, a bit more flash.

4) I'd use a slightly smaller hackle on the rear body so the black spey hackle has
room to move and to make the rear of the fly less "busy".

5) I'd use a dyed purple guinea for the face or throat hackle, which has a bit more
contrast than a purple hackle and guinea would cause the spey hackle to
move around more due to the vortex it sets up around the fly from its stiffer
fibers.

5) I'd tie the wing in with the wing ends moving out away from the body and with
the top edges meeting just behind the tie in point to allow them to "droop" a
bit as is the fashion with dee flies.

In addition, adding some slightly drooping jungle cock as sides would a greatly to the visual impact of the fly and provide a "target" for a fish.

Keep in mind that I am a traditionalist when it comes to dee flies and their look.

And as I said in my first sentence, your fly is nicely tied.

Hey St.Steven!

This fly would surtenly be a "catcher" in my homewaters for Atlantic Salmon in Norway. Specially i midNorway where we have a kind of yellow/brown tone colord
water with green banks.
Flies with purple spice was popular in Norway for about 10-15 years ago, but...
nowadays its hard to get purple materials.
