Yak Attack Sorties
I am not sure if I want to buy a yak so I want to rent from my good friend Donny Baker at Sesuit Creek Outfitters and try a few scenarios that I have been thinking a lot about lately.
One of them is Pleasant Bay, although it can be a schoolie show it's also got some nice fish and is an inside bay with open ocean tide flushes on a daily basis.
Another is the bayside flats between Sandy Neck, Brewster, all the way to Wellfleet there are great flats to paddle out to.
Monomoy is another place where a yak opens up the options in a big way.
Soon the south cape will be the target when tunoids arrive.
So I propose the first Yak attack for Bayside flats before the large fish move out to Billingsgate - which they have not really done yet this year. I am sure they will leave the inshore flats soon, but right now fish in the mid-thirty inch class are pretty regular there.
The second yak attack could be either monomoy or pleasant bay.
Then the tunoids.
Saturdays are best for me, and parking is a consideration. I have an open bed truck and could take a good # of yaks to the launch of we wanted to split the parking ticket ;-)
A few things to think thru here...
