Searching for the Easter Steelhead

The runs may be down, but that's not stopping us! Tyler, Jeff, Sinktip and friend, Bill, and I are headed out tomorrow to search the Skagit/Sauk with our flies in search of a steelhead or two for Easter.

We should see some interesting reports up on the board come Monday!

RE:Searching for the Easter Steelhead

Alas, it was not for lack of trying. Dave "Bunny Leech" Hunt and I hit the Sauk at first light this morning fished it hard until 6:30 this evening. All we have to show for it are tired backs and windburnt faces. The river was up and colored up some but very fishable. Just no fish to be had. Light pressure except for an afternoon bubba hatch which quickly passed. Only heard of one boat with a fish. I'm hoping Brian, Tyler, et. al. did better on the Skagit.

Still one week to go, never lose faith!!!

Best of luck guys, hope there's a gnarly thick shouldered buck out there to drive deep into the backing; or a mint hen who'll put a tarpon to shame pound for pound in the acrobatics department. I'll be doing the ceremonial single malt to aid the cause.

RE:Searching for the Easter Steelhead

Hey Jeff,

Thanks again for the float - it was nice to finally get to see the Skagit, and especially nice to not be shore-bound.
Hoping you or Tyler may have had some better luck after Brian and I bailed?
