On the Hook with the New Ride

Got my replacement to the Aquasport all set up now after the last few weekends. Can't wait for this weekend to get out on her again! Now for a name....grrr.

Hmmm - a name for a boat, what a nice thought... other than "weedwhacker" (thought up by JimW) I haven't had much call for this. I had the center console out in Seattle but never named her.

Here's the link without the question mark:

Ok gang how about it? Let's give our former Forum GQ winner a helping hand.

Have had many options so far, but none that really was the winner:
Original boat was always jokingly named the "She Caved", so logically this would be "She Caved Again"

"Leeway"-for the latitude I've been given allowing the purchase
"Nasushi"-Wife's name backwards with a tuna twist
"First Bite"
"Quality Time"

...

Warren,

Thanks for the comments, I think she's purty as well!

Nick

Nick,

Boat looks great. Curious to hear how you will like being on a mooring vs. keeping her on the trailer. Bottom paint, reduced corrosion and flexibility to fish other locations always outweighed the slip/mooring in my case but there are certainly times I wish I could just walk down to the marina and go for a quick spin.

As for names, I have always been a traditionalist on that front. My boat is the Avril Marie (wife's and sister's middle names). No lettering on the boat as it just never seemed to look right unless I removed the JB decals in the stern and I didn't want to do that.

Best of luck with her this season. Keep me in the loop on any tuna sightings/catches!

Sean

Sean,

So far, it's been eh as far as mooring goes. Boat fund trumped the new vehicle fund though, and towing behind my Liberty is doable, but not a walk in the park. So for now, the mooring it is. Short money as well after buying gear...$120 for fee, then another $250 to keep dinghy. Better than gas to tow the boat this year I think.

I will certainly miss the flexability though. Boston Harbor was BLAST to fish and sight see in, now that's a 40 min run away. We'll see, I can always do onsey twosy's on the trailer...

I do like the traditional names....we"ll see. Probably will never make the side of the boat for the same reason, but I'm tired of saying "Avril Marie, Avril Marie, you out there Sean it's Nick"...
