I'm sure you will get back there! This may be our last trip for a few years.

all the Acklins stories and reports have me thinking a purely "fishing" trip next year. Maybe Acklins ... maybe Andros .... with a daughter going to college this fall, it will be DIY and on the cheap!

Jim, I've had a hard time with the 68CS hooks. Flies seem to flip over a lot more than the 70CS and the old 34007's. Not quite sure why, except maybe there's more mass by the barb/tip, and maybve th shoerter length plays into it.

I think we're used to tying on longer hooks, which have less bend and barb sticking up.

Last year we went in late June early July. Not much rain, not really that humid. (not like Florida!!!) It was 85-90 most days .... but didn't cool off much at night. Where our house was we always had a nice breeze off the ocean which helped allot! I enjoyed it!

looking at the hook, it does have a wide gap. I would guess that the problem is lessened with larger dumb bell eyes vs beadchain? I've used this hook for epoxy bait fish and such. Where the hook is in normal attitude. In that pattern the hook works great as a keel. Interesting observation on the inverted tie.... I never thought about that problem. Will have to check it out!
