Welcome to the forum Harry!

I would go for a slow action/full flex 3 or 4 weight. If you're going to be fishing any larger water, I'd go for the 4 wt.

How much are you looking to spend?

I highly recommend the Orvis Superfine rods. They are phenomenal and everybody I know that has one loves it. They just upgraded them and upped the price too of course, but if you can find one of the older ones online they're a sure bet. I have the Brook Trout full flex 4.0 4 wt model. That rod looks like it's been discontinued and it was "only" $345, whereas the current rods are all almost $500!

Personally, I'm a big fan of St Croix rods so I'd look at one of those. TFO is also pretty well respected in that price range. Cortland also makes some excellent lower priced rods.
