Topwater bass and one small pike 7/4/06

Launched the boat on the river to avoid the 4th of July insanity on the local lakes. The water was a little high but not too murky. Got a small pike right away on a foam head diver so I stuck with that fly and fooled a few hungry largemouths as well. Here's the best bass of the day, a solid 2+ pounder. The photo's little blurry because I had to shoot quickly so I could avoid crashing into the brush on the bank.

That sure beats my fourth, Q. I had some yardwork to do, then watched some rented movies with the wife. Not bad, but still not fishing.
