Flotant

I just bought some fly flotant today but I don't know how best to use it!

It is liquid and it says use 1 drop between your finger and thumb. Does it need to dry after application or do you use it straight away?

How often should it be re-applied?

Thanks,

DLL

Those type of floatants dry pretty quickly. You can treat your flies before getting on the water, but I usually apply it after I've tied the fly to my tippet. A few false casts are usually all that's needed to dry the fly.

Reapply as needed (usually after catching a fish).
