Has anyone used the Flytedeck chest pack?

I'm looking for a simple chest pack and, searching on google, found what looks like a neat system produced by a company called Flytedeck (www.flytedeck.com). Has anyone seen/used this pack? If so, would you recommend it? It looks like it would be excellent for trout, but would it be versatile enough to use in saltwater or for salmon/steelhead (it looks like it might be too small)? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Rob

Flydeck

Rob,

It's cute but VERY small. I don't really see it as a practical alternative in the salt, unless you're fishing very small bonefish patterns.

Just my $0.02...your mileage may vary.

Best regards,

-Doc

I've seen them at the shows. My feeling is if you can use something that small you don't need a pack at all. Throw your flies and some tippet in your shirt and start fishing.

Looks a little small to me...unless you only carry a set number of flies and no tippet/leaders/strike indis, etc.

Definitely too small for SW. In fact many of the fancy chest pack systems are too small to hold a large fly box in the front pockets.

I ended up going with a big lumbar pack that is attached to my stripping basket for SW. Still prefer the vest for FW applications.
