Combat Trout fishing on the Farmington River

Decided to fish the Farmington River in Conn. one last time. Pulled into my favorite area and noticed a lot of pickup trucks. Then I spotted the the opening day Pheasant hunters all decked out in bright orange. Got suited up and made my way to the river. Then the shooting began. Heard my license plate read and a request to return to my car. Met by Conn. MDC police who asked me to leave the area. They said I could fish the river and that they wanted to keep control of the parking. I took their advice left the area and went to the Church Pool . The river was high due to the recent storm. However, I caught two nice brown trout on the winter caddis. Nice way to end the season on the Farmington.
