Happy Holidays & Thanks

As we hopefully rocket towards the first spring trout and schoolies I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks to Juro and the rest of the crew for the BEST season of my life.

Juro's intent was to create a community of comrades whose passion for fly-fishing would break down the barriers we all put up or run into every day. As I remember my season and the friends I made and re-connected with, I would have to argue that he has accomplished this.

Fond memories:
- Being laid off and having the cape to myself weekdays.
- Landing my first keeper Striper (ever) with Juro in the spring
- an incredible day in Barnstable with Terry & trying to stretch the success out at the Bass River - only to get skunked
- looking for more fish with Nate at the spring clave
- fishing P-town with the Esteys, AL & Greg during the Monomoy clave
- miles and miles of wandering Monomoy with Juro, Bigcat, DaveP, BrianZ
- having South beach to myself during one of the early shuttles & finding fish where I knew they would be
- Rip Trips
- Big Girl
- Pete from Calgary clearing a knot for me as I fought a cow on a Rip Trip
- watching Bigcat keep pulling in fish on the Rip while we were getting skunked
- meeting Mr. Morin

Too many more to list and I don't want to bore you with the rantings of a depraved striper junkie.

I wish you all a safe & happy holiday!

Roop

RE:Happy Holidays & Thanks

Merry Xmas to you Jeff and I will look for you at the shows or any of the tying functions. I will never forget the rip trips and the lighthouse this year. Now I will have to catch them on my own tied flies. I printed off maybe 3 hundred pages from the web on flies and instructions. I agree it was great to meet everyone, Juro, Al, Terry,Bigcat, DaveP, Marvin, Bob Pink, Grego. Etc,Etc. I spent years wondering around alone In Chatham except for a few of the local guys and did not realize that there were so many with like devotion. I really don't think I would have gotten into tying had I not bumped into you guys.

RE:Happy Holidays & Thanks

Since there will many more Merry-X-Mas messages I thought I would send my best wishes for the festive season to all via this reply. It may wind up being one of the longest threads ever, if everyone joins in.
Like Roop, and John I too have many fond memories of my last visit to the Cape and the generosity of folks who allowed me to get on to 2 Rip Trips. As much as I like my home waters, I always think of the Cape and just can't wait to explore more of its wonderful fishery. Most importantly, to be able to just hang out with a bunch of folks who have a willingness to share if asked and do so without pretension. Your virtual camaraderie keeps me reading the Board and learning more each time.
To all the Board members and contributors, a Very Mery Christmas and a Happy 2001 full of Bigguns.

Pete from Calgary

We are blessed with many of nature's gifts. May we continue to be willing to share the joys with others and always use them with wisdom. Thanks to all of you for the joys you were gracious to share with me this season.

A Merry Christmas

To all my new acquaintances and friends:

May you be blessed with the happiness of family and friends at this special time of year. May it continue throughout the New Year.

Happy Holidays to all & best wishes for a happy & healthy New Year. Put in a long run on Duxbury Beach early this morning. Bitter cold, but I couldn't help but think that Spring fish are only about 140 days off! Merry Christmas!

Have a good holiday everyone. We had a rare thing this year. Something to hold onto forever in our rusty memories.

It's hard to find words to express the magic of what we have today in our friendships and experiences; yet it's the promise for what tomorrow holds that amazes me!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the season what it was - the experience has added significantly to my angling passion but even more importantly to my life. I truly believe we will look back on these times down the road and remember them as "the good times". Let them roll!

Very best holiday wishes from our family to yours!

Juro

The nicest part of Christmas is remembering special times and special friends like all of you.
