Here is a Blue crab that I saw in a Journal. The carapace is flat foam then buit up chunk of foam... legs are as you see them and claws have a cover of soft body as does the swimmerttes... Epoxy, then paint...swimmerettes are indian cock hackles with soft body, them cut to shape then paint then covered with soft body..joints of the smimmerettes have black dividing line... the front of the carapace has a plastic strip cut for carapace shell teeth. ..Feelers are painted 45 pound mono and eyes are burnt mono. Hook is imbedded (word of 2003) in the chunk foam

Yes...Hard as Hull... I will try it this summer though just to see if I can get some finicky Bass to lower it's guard.
