I've used Rio and Scientifc Anglers almost exclusively but got a pretty good price on the orvis line when I was up in VT. It's their top of the line line (couldn't resist that one-sorry) and I was wondering if people have used at and what they thought.
Casts nice and smooth from the boat. I used it on a TFO TICR and had no troubles at all. It took a bit more line in the air to really load the rod than I would have liked when I was wading but not such a big deal. It's a very good line at half off!
I've been using the Orvis Bonefish lines for 3 years and have 6 spools (8 & 10 weights). They held up really well, cast great, but I'm still a novice compared to you guys.
I believe on eof the sales guys at Orvis in Boston told me that Scientific Anglers makes their lines.
I have one that's five years old and has held up very well. It casts well in close. It is made by scientific angler
