Anyone know for sure if: the core of the running line portion of AF 40+ is a braid; can it's cover be stripped using nail-polish remover or similar? I've also e-mailed Airflow w/ this ?
Solvent doesn’t effect braided core. You can use nail-polish remover or monofilament line. I did use solvent on Airflo shooting running line which also has stretch less braided core.
Tried acetone (which is the active ingredient in nail-polish remover). Didn't do a thing. This evening, I got a prompt response from Rajeff Sports telling me solvent won't do much and the core is a braided mono.
I ended up making may connector loops out of a doubled 50# super strong braid; tied a double nail knots with the doubled braid, and a bowline with some extra tricks for the connecting loop.
Pull the coating off the core using mono. See my website for instructions on how to do this under, "Tuning Guideline PT Shooting Heads" using the link "temporary" that is within the text.
