The Originator of this fly, Daniel Dufour just may be Quebec’s greatest fly tier. He has won many prestigious fly-tying contests with his more artistic flies including the FQSA Salmon Fly Tying World Championship witch he won 7 times making him the FQSA’s only Grand Master. He has invented many patterns for fishing that are now Gaspe standards. This one, the Futura, was developed for fishing his home waters of the Matapedia River. He recommends that this fly be used in very large sizes, 1/0 to 3/0, on overcast days when the water is high.

Monsieur Dufour IS Quebec's greatest fly tyer and is probably in the top 5 Worldwide. He stunned quite a few "pro's' a few years back at the NH show with his tying prowess. Jaws literally fell to the floor ! Daniel is VERY hard to track down, but once you do find him a kinder and more genteel person you couldn't find. I visited him a "few" ( YIKES )years back and a 1/2 hr visit turned into 4 hrs !
BTW ,where dya find the Futura ?
See you in June
Cheers
