this is my go to fly on paradise springs
the local DNR and some eagles scouts decided to clean it and i think they killed it saw three fish i was looking for the thirty incher i have seen swimming around
they said there was enough water there for them but i doubt it there were tons of trout in that pond
i have pics but when i scale them down they get blurry
the max depth it got was probably abot 10 feet (spring fed so it didn't freeze) and it was maybe a foot and a half
went back today and there was some more water but not much
i saw plenty of brown trout some big ones but no brookies or bows that were in there saw plenty of fry thought which is a good sign
brown trout fishery will remain but i don't know about the other species
similar to a very effective late season summer run fly 'down here' called the "Copper John."
Of late, it's been an absolute top end fly for hook ups. Several folks are using a heavy single egg pattern up front, and the copper john as the trailer.
The wire portion is done in copper, green or red. I've also seen a red-green combo of this but no idea if it's any more effective.
fae
it's similar to a copper john but it is a lot smaller
and no wing case
