Last year I ran into a couple of situations of Big Drum and Cats hitting injured/dead baitfish up on the surface . I had nothing to fit the bill so-
Since it's a dead drift presentation I went a little towards realistic.
-tail is simply unravelled mylar twisted then CA'd at the tail base.
-underbody is a tapered peice of Rainy,s float foam . mylar is shaped by tying in at the front- grabbing the tail and pushing it forward - then coating the top with Fishing Glue( dilute CA) to hold the shape. Could probably tie it rotated on the shank to get a flat in the film presentation.
