I have just got back from my first salmon trip of this year. On the Dee in Scotland.
I arrived in Aberdeen last sunday afternoon to find a lot of snow on the ground and driving to the lodge there seemed to be even more. The river on sunday was at a reasonable hight and my fishing friends and I were excited about a good few days.
Waking on monday morning there was light rain and temperature of about 7 degrees Celsius. The river had risen 4 feet!! and was still rising. Fishing was very difficult to say the least.
On tuesday it had stopped raining but the river was a raging torrent with the gauge nowhere to be seen. The snow had practically all melted.
Wednesday was pretty much the same thing and I had to leave.

Yet another fishing trip spoilt by the weather.:frown:

This is getting to be a serious pain.:(
