You're gettin SERIOUS! A few names come to mind... Josko, Capt. Bruce Peters, and some guys I used to work with up in Maine. Josko and Bruce head east offshore from the cape, so if you're leaving from the south shore would probably be best researched with the Stellwagen folks. The B-Fast charter guys leave from the south shore and hit the Stellwagen for bluefin. Capt.Tom, a bunch of guys in MA Striped bass, etc. You are talkin' schoolies, I hope. Fly lines are gettin' expensive http://www.flyfishingforum.com/images/flytalk/Wilk.gif" border="0" align="middle">

Art Burton and son are into make shark on flies, there might be some stories to share there.

My best bet would be to ping Smitty on this one. He is connected on the south shore and I know he's chased everything that swims.

Giant bluefin tuna are a little bit out of my range at this point... but I am willing to learn! <img src="http://www.flyfishingforum.com/images/flytalk/Wilk.gif Tell ya what, if you need someone to tag along and chronicle the adventure on film, let me know. I bought a camcorder to MPEG converter last year and haven't used it all that much. I need a good excuse.

Good topic, can't wait to see the results =8^O

Saltydog (Rich I believe?),
Nat Moody is another guy you might talk to up at First Light Anglers in Manchester, MA. He runs a Silverhawk out to the Bank and has tangled with tuna on the fly. I usually get out there 6-12 times a year with a friend who also runs out of Manchester. We usually troll for tuna or bait for sharks, but I just acquired a Penn 13-15 wt. for very short $$$ and plan on doing some similar experimenting with blue sharks and hopefully some other blue species this summer, so let me know if you want to compare notes.

Looking forward to expanding my horizons a little. What boat will you be running out there?

By the Bank I meant Stellwagon--I usually do not fish "inside" the Bay (i.e. south of P-Town) but we regularly go to the BE Buoy and the SW corner of Stellwagon, which is only about 15 nm east/northeast of Green Harbor. We fish for bft and porbeagles sometimes. Last season was kind of a nightmare for both, but at a minimum I plan on taming a few 100 lb. blue sharks just to test the equipment...
