Al Buhr's new book is
"Two Handed Fly Casting-Spey Casting Techniques"
I much prefer Two DVD's
"Spey to Z" (Excellent )
and
"The Art of Spey Casting"
Cheers
Don't forget Ally Gowan's DVD Spey Casting Made Easy. It too is very good. I agree with the Simon Gawesworth recommendation, great book. Use it in conjunction with the RIO DVD and it is a great learning aid.
I'll second speydoc on the idea of DVD. In this day and age, seeing - especially with slow motion technique - is much more powerful than words, as no imagination is required so very little can be misconstrued.
Although I've not seen many DVD's on casting, I do recall my nephew who recently took up fly fishing reported to me that Falkus on Fly Casting, by Hugh Falkus was of tremendous help.
I hosted Simon Gawesworth on the beaches of Cape Cod so can attest that there is some coverage of beach casting on his epic video.
However my recommendation would be to spend time with someone who has done it a lot, or hire an instructor.
