For those having trouble with bronze mallard wings splitting, the photo of this fly clearly shows how the wing is tied in by the lighter (grey) portion of the feather from near the stem.
No problem, buddy. I started when I was 8, and 20 years and many dollars later, I'm still going strong . Fly fishing is probably the greatest calling a young person could find.
Also, try doing a search on the Kalama. Might find some more hints and info that way. Check out the forum at www.speypages.com as well. Again, good luck and welcome.
