thanks for the report. Rods and people are all unique, and so are combinations of the two. For my casting style, the saltwater T&T Horizons remain well on the top of the heap for natural and easy line speed. Its interesting when you consider how "old" these rods are (8 years old) and they still seem to sell. With a small but well-timed double haul they eat line and backing like nobody's business, and have enough feel to cast well in close. I'd be interested to try my trusty T&T 9x9 against the new Xi2, just for kicks. I'd bet the Xi2 feels lighter in the hand, probably benefitting from more recent technology. Nice to see that there can actually be some design progress mixed in with all the hype surrounding each new rod that hits the market
