The Loomis GL2's are fairly fast rods. They are the old, original G. Loomis designs from way back in 1982 when Gary Loomis went out on his own and split from Loomis composits inc. (LCI, now known as Talon and the people who make blanks for many big-name, high-end manufacturer's), which was founded after he left Lamiglas (which he also started along with 7 investors).
I have two rods I built from these blanks (which was the only way you could get them the first 2 years G.Loomis was in business) a 6 wt and an 8 wt both 9 feet. They are fast, but not as fast as the IMX or GLX Loomis rods. Definetely faster than the Sage SP though. And they are a great value.
