Just received the LL Bean Katahdin canoe/float tube net and it is simply exquisite in detail and construction. Don't know if I'll let the kid use it, now. That makes two purchases from Bean of the highest quality.
The rods you mention are medium action (a sweet action and usually my favorite) but I'm looking for something a little faster to deal with the beadheads and added weights, though I may be wrong (not unheard of). And there is the "fit and trim" of an economy GLoomis verses an LL Bean "Classic" with its implied promise of old fashioned quality.
