Thanks for the info guys! I'm heading down to Oregon tomorrow to see if I can find some summer steelhead or Springers. Can't stand to go more than a few days without throwing a line on some MOVING water (i've resorted lately to teasing the neighbor's cat with a piece of yarn cast from a 8' 5 weight rod in the backyard!). My usual option for the month of May is closed until June this year, as it was last year also (Stilly). I did check out the Vedder at this time last year, but it was running a bit high from run-off and therefore I found that the amount of flywater was extremely limited. I know of a couple of Oregon rivers that are good in May, but I was hoping to find something a little farther away from Portland for a better chance at some quiet and solitude. Once again, thanks for the help!
